Douglas D. Peterson is a Certified Financial Planner™ with more than three decades of experience in the financial services industry. At Professional Financial Advisors, Doug works closely with individuals and families to design personalized retirement strategies that reflect their goals, values, and long-term priorities.
Doug’s professional background is grounded in both education and financial planning. Before entering the financial arena, he served as a high school teacher and coach, including roles as head basketball coach at St. Patrick’s High School and head soccer coach at North Platte High School. His coaching experience continues to influence his advising philosophy — emphasizing discipline, preparation, and long-term focus.
Throughout his career, Doug has developed specialized experience assisting railroad employees with retirement planning and benefit coordination. Working alongside Donna’s Office Service, he has helped numerous railroaders from across the country navigate complex retirement decisions with clarity and structure.
Doug holds the Certified Financial Planner™ designation as well as the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC®) and Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU®) designations from The American College. He earned his Master of Arts degree from Ball State University and his Bachelor of Science degree from Indiana Wesleyan University.
Outside of work, Doug enjoys hunting, fishing, participating in field trials and hunt tests with his dogs, and spending time with family.
